Care and Instructions:

The Construction:
These canvas rugs are made from the heaviest canvas available. The canvas is stretched on a frame to insure the finished floorcloth lies perfectly flat. The canvas is then primed and painted with between 8-10 layers of latex paint. The edges are hemmed and glued. To finish, the painted canvas is coated with many layers of varnish to protect and seal the paint. The end result is an extremely durable and pliable floor covering that willl last for many years even in your high traffic areas. Allowing for drying time between layers all orders will take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete.

Installation:
Thoroughly clean the hard floor surface where your new floorcloth will be placed. Place the rug on as flat a surface as possible as any irregularities on the floor will wear into the canvas. If the floorcloth has been rolled and is cold, give the rug time to relax and flatten naturally. As it warms to room temperature, it will return to its flat flexible self. When placing under a table or chairs use felt pads to protect your floorcloth from indentations.

Cleaning:
Soapy water made with mild dish detergent and a damp sponge or mop are all you need for regular care. Clean spills as quickly as possible. Remember that your floorcloth is water resistant, but long exposure to water may damage canvas. Your floorcloth will last longer and be easier to maintain with an occasional application of a clear, non-yellowing paste wax.
